I have produced a fairly liquid drink and need to filter it using a fairly quick system. Anything present in the drink with a size greater than 100 microns will be discarded (the part to be discarded is about 4%).
For the laboratory scale, I produced 2kg of drink and filtered it through a metal mesh with 100 micron pores placed over a beaker, pouring the drink on this mesh and at the same time continuously stirring to try to free the holes that were blocked by the particles. In this way I have removed about 4% of the unwanted solid part and obtained my non-grainy drink.
For an industrial scale this process is not feasible.
Anyone have any advice on how to deal with large volumes to avoid constantly brushing manually?
