I want to extract the max principle stress around a internal 3D pore surface, however, it is impossible to determine where the max stress on the outer surface of the pore? Do you have any good methods?
Stresses are calculated at integration points (aka Gauß points). Use Tools->query to look at values at integration points and see where the maximum is.
If you cannot access the elements because they are in the interior, use View->Cut to cut through the structure.
Martin Baeker Thank you Dr.Baeker, as you know, the internal pore shows irregular shape, if i access one element from the cut off plane along X, Y or Z axis, i am not sure whether the element i selected from the plane is the max stress concentration point on the whole pore surface. I used the method as you mentioned yet, however, i think its complex and inaccuracy.
