I have prepared Fe doped TiO2 rutile nanoparticles annealed at 800C using titanium isopropoxide,ethanol,deionized water,ferric nitrate chemicals.for 0,1,5% crystallite size decreases but for 10% its increases.What is the reason behind it.Please provide suitable reference and explanation.. file attached here
limitation of dopant inside the titania lattice!!!
It means you have crossed the dopant limit inside the host material. The excess dopant added will not dope properly inside the titania lattice and may accumulate at grain boundary forming any other impurity phase (sometimes the size of the other phase particle is so small that even XRD cannot identify). Moreover, the change in surface energy due to interaction between dopant and grain boundary may cause an increase or decrease in the agglomeration of particles.
