I was detecting glycan using thermo Orbitrap Exploris 480. Is there any way to exclude specific m/z values MS2 fragmentaiton in MS runs? A MS data analysis program told me to do so, but don't know how/
You want to prevent precursor ions being selected for MS/MS? That can be done using a so-called exclusion list: that is a set of precursor ions that will not be selected for fragmentation, either during the complete run, or only during a pre-defined time frame.
An automated workflow named AquireX in Thermo software simply composes an exclusion list after iterative analysis. This improves the data annotation capability in whether DIA or DDA. This eliminates already previously scanned precursors to reduce total ion numbers directed to mass analyzer. Other than automated AcquireX, you may also compose a manual list for targeted masses only. In the drop-down menu of the scan options of the method acquisition, there must be a node named targeted mass exclusion. You may integrate this option between the DDA MS2 scan and MS1 full scan nodes to exclude the unwanted masses...
