The beta-carotene is a hydrocarbon and all hydrocarbons are non-polar. Therefore, examining its spectra in hexane or other organic solvents such as ether, chloroform etc will be advisable.
yes I know...But i will doing solubility test for beta-carotene in oil and solubility test for beta-carotene in water... but i examine the spectra was feel difficult...
I agree with the colleagues you should examine beta carotene in hexane or other organic solvents, otherwise you can do solubility test in oil and water and then you can extract beta carotene with hexane or acetone
