Abstract:

Castalia is a model for WLAN (WSN), body areas (BAN), and low-power networks, which are commonly frequently used in research and technology, for networking devices. This paper, provides a simple assessment of Castalia’s memory use and computing time over a number of scenarios and characteristics of Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs). While, WBAN gives you the ability to monitor patients closely, but it presents many new challenges too. HKernel parameters like network size, simulation time, and mobile node fraction are, however, unique to demonstrate the scalability potential of Castalia. We analyze our results and clarify the success of the simulator against intuitive results. Also examined in traffic adaptive approaches are IEEE 802.15.4 standard called Zigbee and IEEE 802.15.6 standard called baseline MAC. In fact, the procedures are also compared, the distribution ratio (PDR) are compared and the energy demand is evaluated. They are evaluated. Castalia users should use the tests and their interpretations as a guide to assess the drawback of their simulations, as well as to select criteria that balance performance consistency. We also demonstrate future users the efficiency capabilities of Castalia-3.2.

The best solution method may be is the electromagnetic solution to the transmission problem of the BAN. There are some solutions in the literature based on this method.

I have simulated a BAN network with 10 nodes using Castalia 3.2, I have used the MAC and radio module (IEEE 802.15.6) parameters to evaluate the performance of the studied network.

Now i want to realize this simulation scenario : we want to prove if we want to respect the packet loss rate and the delay acceptable in the BAN network (on body medical applications) , for the case of large distances,when we will increase the transmission power we can violate the SAR constraint (1.6w/kg). In which case we will have to see if two sinks solve the problem because now i use one single Sink.

Do you see that this scenario is simulatable on Castalia? And what steps can I follow to realize this simulation scenario according to your respectful experience. It’s my first work can you help me please ?

As for the simulator Castalia, I did not use it and I I do not know its capabilities.

However, I can help to solve the problem conceptually as I hinted in my previous answers. You can improve the quality of service without increasing the transmit power.

I did not understand what do you mean by two sinks.

It is known that every node can act as a source of information and a sink of information in case or transmission and reception.

May you mean you use two hops rather one hop.

In this case also you can reduce the power and satisfy the quality of the service.

I'm working on the optimal deployment of RFID systems in body networks, we started with the simulation of a BAN network, we want to integrate the SAR constraint in our simulation with the power variation, we need the power variation to know if all the nodes are covered or not and as a solution if all the nodes are not covered with only one sink (sink = coordinator: central node in a body network that receives the packets from other nodes) so at the end we propose another coordinator in the BAN network.

Okay! I see now. The network configuration was not known for me. You have a central node which collects the data from all other nodes and coordinate their operation. You desire to work the network with two central nodes. In this way you will shorten the links between the sink and its related nodes.

Yes It is possible. Where you divide the nodes into two clusters with each cluster has its central node. In this case you have to add a a third node which lies in the center pf the two sinks. This node with be the master sink which communicates

with the WAN.

You can also make the wan communicates with the two nodes and accumulate their data in one one data base.

These are only some ideas which ,may help you solve the power constraints of your network.

Thank you for your answer Mr zekry, the problem is that the literature is limited for my thesis topic, I found only this article: "QoS Enhancement in WBAN with Twin

Coordinators" in this work, the authors worked with another simulation tool. Please Mr. Zekry if you find other articles with simulations and experiments please send them to me.

Good morning!

As a proposal you can make the clustering of the nodes with any other tool or with Matlab and after that you can solve for every cluster using your simulator.

It is a simple matter where the partitioning is a geometrical problem.

If the locations of the nodes on the body are known one can simply group them into two geographical groups.

You may also find a mat lab tool which solve this geometrical clustering problems.

Such problem is solved in wireless sensor networks.
