How can I calculate the characteristic length dimension for a microfluidic device with rectangular channel? If I don't have a straight rectangular channel, how do I calculate the characteristic length, for example a non-uniform curved channel?
Do you refer to Reynolds number calculation, where a characteristic dimension is needed ?
Usually this characteristic "length" is a the hydraulic diameter (for non cylindrical channel).
