In my masters thesis I'm looking forward to synthesise silver nanoparticles in situ on bacterial cellulose obtained from 'nata de coco', however, SEM/EDS imaging is not able to detect any nanoparticle formation, even though I'm able to see a clear change in the membrane colour (from white, as base cellulose, to yellow/brown) and by UV-Vis spectrometry I'm able to indentify the typical AgNP plasmonic peak (absorption peak at around 420nm, depending on initial concentration). Is it possible to indentify the said particles by anything else other than SEM/TEM or UV-Vis?

You can use UV-visible spectrometer. AgNPs give SPR from 400 to 450 nm.
You could attempt using DLS (dynamic light scattering) to detect the presence of nanoparticles in your solution. It will also give you their hydrodynamic diameter. But if you have a UV peak at 420 nm, your synthesis is probably successful.
FTIR analysis can help
the chages in peaks and formation of new ones can tell the existence of new elements
George William Kajjumba thanks, but FTIR analysis is based in chemical bound vibration, so i can't get any signal from metal compounds due to the binding nature, other than the bacterial cellulose peaks.
XRD and ICP would be great techniques!
