I would like to elucidate the biosynthetic origin of polyketide under my study and we postulated that acetate unit is used as building block according to the structure of the resulting polyketide. So 1-13C-sodium acetate will be used for feeding. According to isotope-labelled feeding experiment paper, 13C-NMR will be used to visualize the incorporation of labelled precursor. May I know what kind of 13C NMR should be used (1H decoupled 13C NMR or INADEQUATE) and how the spectrum look like if there is incorporation of labelled-acetate? Thank you.
