Hi everyone, I am a fresher in the area of photocatalysis. I need much meaningful knowledge and literatures to broaden my horizon in this area. Could you give me some suggestions or recommended literatures for understanding the mechanism of photocatalysis, the general type of catalysis used recently, related factors which affect the efficiency of photocatalysis? What is the advantage of photocatalysis？
By the way, I also want to hear your voice about the trends of photocatalysis. I know it is a hot topic and I need your help to enter the researching area of photocalaysis.

..oh my...that will be a tough one...can you describe a bit your starting background? You are starting to elaborate a BSc/MSc/PhD thesis? What your possible supervisor is working with? Or just simply interesting, starting from the level (without any offence, please) "...for dummies"?

Do you have a type of photocatalytic reaction you're interested in studying or a product you're interested in making? Photocatalytic reactions are so diverse there is no one mechanism, type of catalyst, etc...
As a general introduction to photochemistry the book "Modern Molecular Photochemistry" by Turro is a good reference

Previously, I am phd student which engaged in producing sugars from lignocellulose by hydrothermal method.
Now, I want to use photocatalysis or electroncatalysis method to produce H2 from lignocellulose directly. By the way, the catalysis reactions might involve (HER and OER). I am wondering how to use photocatalysis to produce valuable products by OER or HER. Meanwhile, I am still interested in the mechanism or related parameter which affect the H2 production. I want to know if you have got a nice catalysis, how to enhance it catalysis efficiency by controlling the reaction parameter?
Before doing experiment, I need much interested books, thesis, literature and information to help me understand the reaction of photocatalysis.
I know you are working in the region. It is a good chance to learn from you :D .

Jin Chen Yes, it is challenging. I found some interesting works related to this topic. But the basic knowledge of the photocatalysis was recommended for a fresher. Therefore, I want more related works, books, literatures or suggestions to broaden my horizon before designing experiment.
