I wanted to know procedure and mechanism for the distillation of Formamide,, N-methyl Formamide, N,N- Dimethyl Formamide DMF. and drying procedure.

Distill the DMF: Collect the distillate using a condenser to condense the vapor and a collecting flask to collect the purified liquid. Monitor the temperature: Monitor the temperature using a thermometer and stop the distillation when the temperature reaches the desired endpoint, which is typically around 153°C. Store the purified DMF: Store the purified DMF in a suitable container, such as a glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid, in a cool, dry place.
