I need to do a system-level simulation of a 5G network where I can define parameters like location/mobility of UEs, channel models for pathloss/shadowing/fading, handover parameters such as time to trigger, handover offset, and also get measurements such as RXRP, SINR etc and also metrics like throughput, latency, error, etc.
This is quite simple. You can open the home screen and navigate to 5G. In the 5G design window just drop a gNB, a UE, core devices, and a server. Connect the gNB to the core using links. Then configure an application from the remote server to the UE.
To modify the antenna settings right click on the gNB (and the UE) and you can modify the number of Tx/Rx antennas in the PHY layer.

1. Channel models for pathloss/shadowing/fading are available in the gNB properties
2. NetSim runs default values for Time to trigger and Handover offset. These are #defined in the code. You will need to modify these values and rebuild the codes.
3. Radio measurements (Rx-signal-level, SINR, Pathloss etc) are not logged by default since it would slow down the simulation. If logging is enabled it data is written to a file for each DL/UL transmission.

In this scenario will the interference calculations account for interfering signals from multiple interferers or just from the nearest neighbour?
How can I somehow model UEs to “appear” at some time T and then disappear at some time “T + t”?
Another question - Is there some example documentation available for this which explains the network and the reasons for the results? Co-relating the results with the scenario input parameters seems quite complicated.

In this method, you can move the UE to a distant location in the mobility file, such as the edge of the grid, causing it to move out of range of all base stations (BSs). As a result, the UE becomes "invisible" to the network, since it can no longer receive or transmit signals.
