Im trying to make an epoxy/MWCNT nanocomposite and have successfully functionalized and grafted the nanotubes (oxidized and the attached PES).
Now I got dried out samples and I have a hard time dispersing them again, just can't break the agglomerates.
All the publications show images of perfect suspension using sonication, they focus on just functionalization but non discuss the parameters for sonication.
What is the best frequency intensity with polar medium (water, ethanol, xylene, or some blend) and does it require some specific sonication device or just some standard bath type unit?

In the comments, everybody is referring to probe sonicators.
Does anybody know if bath sonicators are usable at all or its really just for cleaning?

An ultrasonic bath can be used to disperse carbon nanotubes. The power has to be strong enough i.e. over 100W. We used to use a bath sonicator to make our carbon nanotubes or graphene dispersed solutions.

Do you know the maximum ratio of CNT to water for the sonication to be effective?
I agree with Wang, ultrasonic bath can disperse your multi-walled carbon nanotubes
