We are looking to develop a Monitoring tools (based on SNMP using Bash and Perl) that will allow to notify us about issues as they occur
Our configuration is as follows:
We have 5 in-house built servers using OpenSUSE as OS:
- a database server using PostgreSQL
- a web-server using Apache an Tomcat
- a Mail server
- A file server that treats information collected from the field
- A custom build server that serves as a Router
Using Pacemaker, we have created a High Availability system where we are duplicating the same servers in co-location with a local ISP, so we could do a failover if something goes wrong with one of the server or something goes wrong with the bandwidth in either location.
The two database servers are being synchronized using WAL.
We are also using a Data warehouse server.
I will appreciate to the researchers for solving this query.

I know Nagios is good candidate for monitoring the entire infrastructure of the organization. It also helps for the feature-enhancements, bug fixes.................... But we want to create our own environment that requires requested specification.

Why don't you use existing monitoring tools, like Nagios:

We use it at our University and it's very reliable and flexible.

I will recommend zabbix , we have been using it for such tasks. its open source.
