How to determine using OpenCV or EMGU whether 'c' ( an English character ) curve is kept clockwise or counter?

Please find the attached image here. An image is showing 8 types of variation in rotation and 4 types of orientation of a curve looks like an English character 'C'.

In real application the 'C' can be kept at any arbitrary rotated angle.

The image no 7 is not possible to determine. And basis of detection is always the ends. In reality the object is counter clock wise for the first image.

I tried in several ways but could not even have a clue to determine whether it is clockwise or counter. Any help will be great.
