Hey there fellow researchers!

I have a quandary that I would like further understanding of. In vortex methods involving vorticity shedding from the surface, I have read that the height at which the vortex panels are diffused are determined through the process of diffusion caused by the impulsive motion of a flat plate. However, in several papers the constant which occurs in the equation is different. How is the value of the constant defined, and is the constant of vital importance to the method? Your help with this matter would deepen my understanding advanced discrete vortex methods. Herewith are attached a couple of the papers that I have been going through.
