I have prepared a bi metallic which the portion of the Pd is about 1%. Considering that the small amounts of the substances cant be detected by the common methods like XRD or EDX, how can I prove the existence of the Pd in this bi-metallic compound?
You can probably detect it in XPS if you have the XPS facilities. You can also try in EDX or XRD but I am not sure that you can detect easily 1% (weight or volume %?).
For EDX to detect 1% of Pb in bimetallic compounds is not so easy in principle. it also depend on the detector resolution and other parameters. Since, you are close to the detection limit of an EDX detector. I would suggest you to use SIMS. Or play with parameters like ( Voltage, current and Time). Anyway you want to try this with TEM or SEM.
