We prepared gold nanorods which turned to be mixed with high amount of gold nanospheres. How can we calculate the exact ratio and the concentration for each one in the mixture?
If you get two plasmon bands in the visible spectrum, then the ratio of their nanoparticles can be determined from the ratio of their intensity. Also try the spectra of the SERS of any compound. You can also try to determine the ratio of images of a transmission and scanning microscope.
The plasmonic absorption (area under the absorption band) ratio can be useful to identify the concentration ratio of the metal np but the absorptivity may not be same , so how can we assign the concentration ratio ?
Gold nanorods and gold nanospheres may have different plasmon absorption maxima. The intensity ratios of these peaks may give the ratio of nanorods and nanospheres. Need to try. This is my advice.
