I found no such guidance in the Eurocode 3 Part 1-8. There are equations for truss design. Thus no moment resistance is considered. Is it that I can only use FEM to do so? What if I switch the beam section to I section or Channel section? I saw many structures constructed with this kind of welded beam-column joint? But I don't know how the design is carried out? Could anyone give me some reference?
