I am using K-means clustering to ‘fine tune’ the results of Hierarchical clustering, taking the cluster solution from Hierarchical clustering as its inputs. I am reading the cluster centres in from an external SPSS datafile which leads to an error message and I do not understand why.
I know that for the external data file SPSS requires one row of data for each cluster, and one column of cluster means for each variable. The first column, as it is suggested in the literature, I called "CLUSTER_" (I have a total of six clusters), however I always receive an error message saying that either the format is not correct or that one variable does not have any cluster centers. SPSS stops the calculations and I do not know where to go from here.
Maybe someone has an idea how to fix this issue? I would really appreciate it!

Hi Muhammed, thank you for your quick response. As I am not using R for my analysis, I am still having trouble with the external file in SPSS. Maybe you would have a suggestion how to solve it using SPSS?
