I need to solve the same comsol model several times with different interpolation functions. I'm trying to automate the process using matlab livelink. I have the needed interpolation data in a text file and would like to know how to define the the interpolation function at the matlab prompt?

Create a COMSOL model first using the COMSOL GUI. Then save the model as a MATLAB M file. After that, you can create a MATLAB function from the COMSOL model that you just saved as an M file. You can then call this function from the MATLAB prompt.
What comes to the interpolation function, you can add to your COMSOL model either a MATLAB function (that does interpolation) or a COMSOL interpolation function (that uses an input file). I would suggest using a COMSOL interpolation function.
When you have your COMSOL model saved as an M file, you can change the interpolation function as you wish. For example, make a function out of the M file which takes a file name as a parameter. In the function, change the model to use this file. Then you can run the COMSOL model from the MATLAB prompt passing a different file name for each model run.
This is very easy and powerful. However, some familiarity with MATLAB programming is required. If you haven't tried this before, save a COMSOL model as an M file and see what it looks like. If you know MATLAB programming, it will quickly become clear to you what to do.
It is a good idea to make two functions from the COMSOL model. One which initializes the model and another one that changes the model according to your wishes and solves it. This way the model geometry and meshing get done only once and solving is separated from model creation (assuming that the geometry and meshing do not change from one run to the other).

I was wondering if you sorted out the interpolation with Matlab Livelink. When I save my comsol model as a .m file. I observe several lines refering to an unknown 'res'

I was wondering if you knew what it meant and if I need if in my matlab code, and I was wondering if there is a way to see if the data are well imported.

can you help me how to interpolate through space (x) and time COMSOL data for another COMSOL simulation?
I'm trying to use data from a COMSOL simulation (function of coordinate x and time - f(x,t)) in another COMSOL simulation.I need the whole matrix (and probably interpolated data within the boundaries of space and time) for the new simulation.
I use export from model1 and import through extrapolation in model2.
In my case, I export the stress tensor individually, for example x, y, solid.sx; then x,y,solid.sy. Then I create an extrapolation function for each file.
Beside the physics, I also export the deformed geometry.
