I am estimating the GARCH model to track fluctuations in the financial expectation data survey. During the preliminary stage, I tested all the classical assumptions, all good except the autocorrelation. Given the model developed under the assumptions of non-linear relation and a causation relation might exist, could I tolerate the existence of autocorrelation in this case?

Thank you in advance to all the community members who are kind enough to help.
