I want to create a WSN network where the sensor devices have different properties, especially different energy levels at the simulation start. LEACH protocol is applied to elect cluster heads in this network and analyze the network performance against traditional routing protocols.

A heterogeneous sensor network can be created in NetSim by configuring different properties for the sensors such as the battery power. Next, traffic generated by each node can also be configured differently. These properties are unique to each device.
LEACH protocol can be implemented in NetSim or in MATLAB for which necessary arguments such as sensor count, and the energy level of each node can be passed as arguments such that the algorithm outputs parameters such as the number of clusters, cluster to which each sensor belongs and cluster heads of each cluster. Packets can be routed from each sensor node via one or more cluster heads to the sink node.
