I want to count type of SNPs generated with the help of geneious. example file attached.
For example, for A/T SNPs A present in upper row of the column and T present in the bottom row of the column. If I want to count A/T variation or C/T variation. Then How I can calculate it easily with the used of a formula.
Applying Formulas in MS Excel sheet is quiet serious but it can be done easily. If you have done the calculations before by applying formulas in cells then as I saw your example sheet it is not difficult. You have to put formula on mainn variables then select the cells for calculations then save the Excel sheet. Choose the correct formula for calculations sum or others. Regards

Would that be easier if you export your data (or or kinda transpose it) into a table in which the SNPs are presented row-wise, each row for each chromosome position. That is kind of table normally we get from CLC genomics Workbench, as explained below:

or in your case, it would be

| 20,295 | C | T
Then it would be easier to count.

I would act simply by adding a third column containing both alleles, sort by this column and count. just put this formula in this additional column (=concatener(D2;"/";E2))...in english for you.

Your method really work but It also has a problem. When I get A/T from A and T. then in next step the T which I have get should be ignore but I my case I could not do so. Please give me some time when you get a chance.
