Hi,
I am using signal recovery 7265 to measure the magnetoelectric voltage generated from my samples, and followed the technique described in the following article:
Article The Lock-in Technique for Studying Magnetoelectric Effect
I used the A-B differential mode to measure the voltage between the electrodes connected to my sample. For the a.c magnetic field, I used the ACMS coil available in PPMS (Quantum Design). The coil was driven at 5 kHz, using the internal oscillator of the lock-in amplifier at 5 volts, and bipolar input device was selected as voltage pre-amplifier.
The strange thing is that, whichever sample I use, (be it thin film, or bulk ), I always obtain a voltage in the range of 100 - 200 micro-volts.
I feel there is some problem with the measurement, but not able to figure out what!
I also tried measuring on pure ferroelectric BaTiO3 thin film as well as single crystal (expecting zero or negligible voltage), but in both cases I again obtained a voltage in the range of 100 - 200 micro-volts.
Can somebody explain if I am wrong somewhere?
