I have followed various protocols in order to copolymer chickpea protein isolate (prepared from the standard protocol) with synthetic monomer. However, my protein isolate does not copolymerizes (clumps) with the monomer after precipitation with acetone. I do not understand the underlying problem in this case. Since chickpea protein has not been polymerized until present, I have followed the protocols regarding other protein isolates which are as follows:
