I prepared a nanocomposite system made from a polymer and inorganic filler and I need to determine from TGA the amount of each compound. The TGA provide the weight loss in % of the organic matter (polymer) and I want to know how to determine the mass of the grafted polymer from this percentage and the mass of the filler as well.

First of all, you must be sure that:
1- All the organic matter has been removed due to the thermal treatment.
2- Any part of the inorganic is not removed due to the thermal treatment.
If these conditions are satisfied, you can calculate the:
- The mass of the polymer= total weight of your composite * weight loss % from TGA).
- The mass of the filler= total weight of the composite* (1-weight loss % from TGA).
Did you perform the thermal analysis in air? And if so, do you have the thermal analysis done for every counterpart in their pure form?
Since you prepared yourself you system, you should have each component separately. One thing that you can do is:
-Perform the TGA with your pure polymer. This analysis can give you the neat polymer degradation and the residue of polymer at the end of TGA analysis (say temperature > 500-600°C). If your polymer does not have any residue at the end (say >500°C) of your TGA experiment , the residue that you have, is originated from the filler
-Perform the TGA with your pure inorganic nanocomposite used as filler without polymer. Event it is inorganic particle, sometimes it happens that the filler can undergo some chemical reactions with temperature. This is the case for exemple with CaCO3 which is frequently used as filler in polymers. CaCO3 starts to decompose at around 600°C as CaCO3-->CaO+CO2. Then you have only CaO as residue and NOT CaCO3.
You can know the thermal behaviour of each component of your material. Then, these two observations can complete the TGA result obtained on filled polymer composite.

second, if you do the test under inert gas ( no oxidation effect) it is important to know the initial weight of the sample and the remaining weight.
then you have to do the thermal analysis for every compounds in your composite in their pure form to know the remaining weight of each of them under the same test condition

1. Establish the composition of complex by using various techniques such as icp-oes and chns.
2. Then by knowing the complex molecular weight, identify the region of weight loss on the tga thermogram or if you combine tga and dta thermograms in origin software you'll get exact idea that where the weight loss is taking place.
