The concentration (w/v) of your dried sample = 0.25g/100ml = 2.5g/l

and the conc.(w/v) of N after analysis by AAS = 91mg/l

Therefore conc. of N (w/w) in dried sample = (91mg/l)/(2.5g/l)

= 36.4 mg/g or 36400 mg/kg.

The simple calculation asumes that 1 L weighs 1 kg; therefore dilution of 0.25 g to 100 mL is a factor of x400. So if you measure Z mg/L the concentration in the sample is (400 x Z) mg/kg.

well, based on the literature AAS is not normally used for the analysis of the light elements such as H, C, N, 0, P and S.

Thats what I learned in the past. Could you send me some references on that procedure?
