My survey data is in the following format:

                                                    Indicator X            Indicator Y        Indicator Z

Technology A     Respondent 1         3                         4                         4

                           Respondent 2         3                       -5                        3

                           Respondent 3         -1                       -3                        0

                           Respondent 4

Technology B     Respondent 1

                           Respondent 3

                           Respondent 7

In a nutshell, with the above data pattern, I have likert scale data , from -5 to 5 , for 40 technologies , and these ratings have been given by a total of 20 respondents (not uniform across all technologies, say 10 gave response for technology A, while 11 gave for B , while all 20 gave for technology C).

My query is twofold.

(a) How to aggregate their response? Like I need 1 value for a technology across each indicator. I took an average to see the average rating. Suggestions?

(b) After getting one value across each indicator for a technology, I want to compute a composite score. Will multiple correspondence analysis work for such a small data set? Any other relevant methods?

Looking forward for response.
