Recently, the local license server of my institute has changed. As a result iam not able to access it. Do I have to reinstall the ABAQUS software again with the new license server or can we change it directly without undergoing through the long process of reinstalling it.

No you don't need to do so. You just need to change the server's ip address to the new one in the license path file, which you source before connecting to the tool. If its for TCP, 5280@(old server ip address) to 5280@(new server address)

In Abaqus Installation file(C:/prog......) in your computer
navigate to DS_License_Server Folder
run setup.exe
In the prompt write your server address
It could be
localhost : 0000
or
user@-----
Contact your network admin for the address or your colleagues who are using it
