Thank you very much for your answer. But my problem is that the rebin command is a command which is valid only in IDL programming language.

It is not a operating system command.

Would you please let me know how can I use the method you told to solve this problem?

Using the MATLAB function system you can run an IDL code with rebin or other command and then process in MATLAB its result (e.g. as text file). In this way you "call IDL in some part of my Matlab code to do the procedure".

If you need an interpolation, you can use proper MATLAB functions (http://www.mathworks.com/help/curvefit/interpolation.html).

Would you please let me have a sample mfile which uses an IDL command. I have studied the website about matlab function system, however it is not clear for me how I can use this function to run an IDL code.

MATLAB function system can run any executable code or command known to OS. If such code saves its result as file, you can later read and process this file in MATLAB.
