I have anthropometric data from 1300 students in age of 7-11 and want to calculate their growth z-score and percentiles, is there any software or method to calculate it? There is software such as WHO Anthro but we should calculate these indices by importing data one by one.
WHO Anthro come in different disguises, one is a R script with additional data and HowTo files - It is pretty sure that an automatic reading of your 1300 student ages is possible, in R at least. Even if you are not an R wiz, just copy and paste commands as indicated in the WHO package. Or make 100 or so of your data available to test a program.

You can use the percentile function in Excel to get the percentiles. See example here

It also depends on your skills. You could also use some scriptable software such as Octiave, MATLAB, R, or even Python. It comes with the high flexibilty of importing almost any kind of data, allowing to calculate almost everything (either by using available functions or programming your own), plotting in the style you need it, etc. A further advantage is that your analysis and results are reproducible and your script is reusable to other data.

R is very useful to make your own codes and its free. If you need much easiness then Minitab is very useful and easy to operate for this kind of operation.

I found a way to calculate it. two software "WHO anthro" and "WHO anthroplus" can calculate z-scores for children under 5 years old and above 5 years respectively. WHO released syntax files for using this calculation on statistic softwares such as R or SPSS.

Glad you find it! I was about to suggest it but I saw the post too late. I have a question for you, did you used your data as in z-scores? Or did you changed them to percentiles? If so how did you do that? I am using STATA and SPSSS
