Hi,

I designed several lattice structures. Top and bottom surfaces of the lattice are solid (0.5 mm in thickness). Those surfaces are 20 mm X 20 mm. I conducted linear finite element analysis with a range of loads. I have measured the displacement for each load. But if I want to calculate the Young's Modulus for my lattice structures, then the calculated value if too small. I am sure there is something incorrect.

Young's Modulus was calculated by:

Stress = Load/ area= 60000 N/400 mm=150 N/m2.

Strain = displacement /length= 8.079488 mm/20 mm = 0.404

Young's Modulus = Stress/ strain = 150/0.404 = 371.29 MPa = 0.37129 GPa

Please does this correct?

Another question. If I divide Load/ displacement (N/mm). Then is this Young's Modulus?

Regards
