My study is to predict Lateral Torsional Buckling using Generalized Beam Theory (GBT).
In order to form GBT equations , its required to calculate Warping Constant . So I want to understand the basic concept of Warping and Can anyone help me to understand how we derive Warping Constant for channel sections.?
Warping is caused due to non uniform torsion and open sections are prone to its effects. It is similar to torsion in closed sections but in an open section the cross section before and after bending does not remain similar. Instead they under go a helical deformation.
Yeah that's right.But how to calculate the warping constants for the cross section under Lateral Torsional Buckling??

The general formula for calculation of warping constant is like the attachment 1. Moreover, for a channel section you can use the equations which are presented in attachment 2.
