i am building a small 1/10 scale electric car to implement my phd work. i have small IMU and a GPS not very accurate, from these sensors i can get 3 angles and 3 acceleration, total velocity, lat and long.
i want to calculate vehicle lateral velocity and side slip angle, can you please guide me what will be the most effective and easy way to calculate these variables..
also, can you suggest a way for the calculation of tire coefficients for small size car 4kg.
first of all thank you very much for your reply, actually, i know some of the basic theory but i am confused with the practical implementation....
ok let's start with the first step, if i choose the basic linear bicycle model then i will need the tire coefficients to linearize the model do you have any idea how to calculate the coefficients, i can calculate the CG and normal forces, JZ estimation i don't know any idea? i can get the rmp feedback pretty accurate.
