The differences in COD and BOD before and after the process

As Dr. Motasem said that COD and BOD could be used as paramters for efficiency of electrocoagulation of waste water also you can meause TSS, turbidity and volatile suspended solids (VSS).

For different pollutants in wastewater, the COD parameter can be used to find the current efficiency of electrocoagulation process using the following eq.:                        

 CE(%)=(CODo-CODt) * F * V *100/ 8 I t

Where: CODo is the initial chemical oxygen demand and CODt is the chemical oxygen demand at time t 

F; Faraday's cnstant

V; volume of electrolyte in reactor

8; O2 equivalent mass

I; the applied current

t; time of electrolysis
