Hi everyone,

I am guessing how much was the contribution of proline, Na, K and Cl to the lowering of the osmotic potential of my plants, but I don't find any article in which this is well explained.

In my specific case, when I try to calculate the osmotic potential of Na, K and Cl, and thus the contribution to the osmotic potential, the absolute numbers are higher than the total osmotic potencial, so the final contribution is >100%. I think that I am not doing well the calculations.

Is there someone who has done it and that can help me?

Example: in a case of 25 mg/g of DW of Na, I obtained -2,73 MPa. But my total osmotic potential was -1,509 MPa.

Thank you all.

Lidia.
