Please how do I calculate the mean weight diameter of a soil aggregate?
I know the formula is MWD = Σ xiwi I=1
but how do I calculate it with several different soil fractions? Attached is sample data to use in calculating it.

Hi Obinna ,
I suppose that aggregate seived in over than 2 mm ( classe >2 mm) , they were seiveid before on 4 mm , so the average diameter for the first class is : (4+2 )/2=3 , for the second aggergate classe ( 1-2) :(1+2)/2 =1.5 , after that multiplicate by the porcentage and last operation it is to sum all see first example of BF in the attached file.
