if your nanoparticles exhibit higher heat stability than the oil (which is usually the case), by measuring TGA you will have a loss (or more losses) belonging to the organic phase and a residual weight which is due to the nanoparticles. the weight ratio gives you the absorption capacity. Problems may arise if the decomposition of the organic phase in the confined spaces results in char formation.
