I am trying to calculate the natural frequencies, mode shape vectors, and force transmissibililty for the first six rigid body modes for an engine with four mounts using MATLAB.
I am able to get the eigenvectors and eigenvalues (mode shapes and nat. frequencies) but I am stuck at calculation of force transmission. I want to calculate the force transmitted at the four mount locations for an input location that I define (away from the CG)
First you need to find the deflection at the mount locations using the equation F=Kx, where F is the force vector at the CG of the Powertrain assembly and K is the global stiffness matrix. Once the deflection at the specific mount location is is determined, then force transferred into the mounts can be easily determined with again the same equation F=Kx, this time K is the local stiffness of the mount and x is the deflection of the mount.
