To calculate diversity metrics using "analysis by regions" in Patch Analyst extension for ArcMap, you can follow these steps:

Open the Patch Analyst extension in ArcMap.

Load your study area raster layer and create a patch grid using the "Create Patch Grid" tool.

Choose the "Region Group" option under the "Analysis by Regions" menu and select the patch grid as the input.

Specify the output folder for the region group files and click "OK".

Once the region group files are created, select the "Diversity Metrics" option under the "Analysis by Regions" menu.

Choose the region group files as the input and select the diversity metric(s) you want to calculate.

Specify the output folder for the diversity metric files and click "OK".

The diversity metric files will be created for each region group and saved in the specified output folder.

Some common diversity metrics that can be calculated using Patch Analyst include:

Shannon's Diversity Index
Simpson's Diversity Index
Evenness Index
Richness Index

These metrics can provide insights into the biodiversity and heterogeneity of the landscape.

Thanks for the answer. The problem is not the process. Following those steps the results show all the metrics at a landscape level with the exception of SDI and SEI.

To calculate diversity metrics using "analysis by regions" in Patch Analyst extension for ArcMap, follow these steps:

Make sure that the input layer you are using for the analysis contains the attribute data for the species or community composition. If the attribute table does not have the data for species abundance or presence/absence, you need to join or relate it to the table with this information.

Open the "Spatial Analysis by Regions" tool in Patch Analyst extension and set the input parameters for the analysis, including the input layer, region layer, output folder, and metric options.

In the "Metric Options" tab, select the "Diversity Metrics" option and choose the "Shannon Diversity Index" and/or "Shannon Evenness Index" from the dropdown menu.

Run the analysis and the resulting output table will contain the values for Shannon's Diversity Index and Shannon's Evenness Index for each region in the region layer.

Note: Make sure that the input layer and the region layer are both in the same projection before running the analysis. Also, ensure that the attribute data is properly formatted and is compatible with the Patch Analyst tool.
