I am here new, I am working on educational disparities among districts (36) of Pakistan by using MICS survey data (with 250,000 individuals and 38000 households' information).
Please help me in finding age and gender wise standardized education index (for level of achievement) and gini-coefficient (for level of disparties).
Suggest me either to use STATA or SPSS, further i am interested to use INDEPTH standardization.

Hi Tanveer, Can you maybe elaborate on "direct method". The simplest way would be to simply norm the variables/values by sex and age-categories.

I had tried dstdize, but I had two issues:
1. this work when characteristic variable is binary in nature, but in my study it has discrete variable (years of schooling)
2. dstdize is used mostly for national data but my study has individual level data
so I am struggling.
