Dear colleagues
I'm currently working on a continous model in HEC-HMS using gridded precipitation. The model is set up and already working for event simulation. Once I add methods for calculating evapotranspiration (Penman-Monteith-Equation) though, the run is aborted at the 99% mark. Excep for the precipiation input I use non-gridded methods by the way.
I tried the following to identify the problem: Running the simulation without calculating ET works properly, as done in an event simulation. Changing the ET method on the other hand still produces the same error. Using gage rainfall instead of gridded precipiation (and leaving the ET methods as is) works without problems.
Thus, there seems to be a compatibility problem with gridded precipiation and (non-gridded) ET calculation. This seems strange to me though, as the program just computes subbasin averages for precipiation by using a non-gridded transform method. So the precipiation input shouldn't have any different format than a gage-weighted rainfall, as far as I understand it.
Right now I'm a bit stuck, since I also don't find any information in the User's Manual regarding this problem. I'm using HEC HMS 4.4 by the way. Is my analysis correct, or do you maybe have another idea to identify the problem? Has anyone encountered something similar?
Any help would be highly appreciated! Please ask if you have further questions or I made something not clear.
Best regards
