Nayan Kadam, qualitative research is focused on understanding. If it sounds useful for your project, and you collect kind of open statements with your questionnaires, this approach might be for you. Standard procedure is to categorise fragments of those statements and analyse their meanings to describe opinions in that way. The categorisation is called "coding". The codes might be then analysed by their order, co-occurrencing, and other meaning based relations. Basics of coding are well explained in these videos:

I'm being very general here. Any particular qualitative approach has it's own details.

Please consider that the aim of qualitative research is not to state that anything is/isn't "common". The aim is to understand, to go deep (what's called idiographic) instead of wide (nomothetic). The word "common" is immanently linked to quantifying, so counting answers - to know the distribution and check what's common (ex. show the mode, median). In my opinion this approach makes sense only if you surveyed a representative sample, or the whole population of professors.

My 2 Research Gate colleagues have given good answers. I may add this simple note:

In qualitative analysis, take care to be as neutral as possible while dealing with the interviews in depth & then drawing the conclusions. It is better to avoid direct statements such as (My opinion is ...) and to use an indirect statement, instead, such as (The opinion , based on so & so, is ...). Best wishes for success.

Nayan Kadam - The analysis will depend upon the type of qualitative research:  ethnographic studies, phenomenological studies and grounded theory etc. Content analysis is usually used to analyze responses from interviewees. The nature of your research and your definition of semi-structured interviews does play a part in qualitative analysis. Qualitative data analysis requires preparing and organizing your data, gather your notes, documents, or other materials, review and explore the data, create codes and combine into themes and present these in the form of rich and deep data.

Coding the responses into themes will be helpful. NVivo software can help you do that.

Hi Nayan, you can do a thematic analysis of interview data. You can code data using software like Nvivo . You can read the following book to get an in-depth understanding of coding:

Mayan Kadam, the literature on interviews with experts might be helpful for you. You will find information about conducting interviews with experts (e.g. about the relation between interviewee and interviewer) as well as analytical methods. The literature recommends to use qualitative content analysis if the research is focused on the acquisition of information.

Thanks a lot Franziska Preiß I have already finished my task by using content analysis method where we analyze data by codes and formulate categories and at the end, establish relationship between categories which would be ultimate result of qualitative analysis. Thank you!

I would suggest open ended questiosn through pi as an approach to the problem.the analysis can be done with nvivo software after data is collected by pi or focus grp

You should analyse interview scripts with softwares like nvivo or atlas i for qord count frequency wors cloud sentiment analysis etc

What if we have done "interviews" and have "diaries" from the participants plus essays as documents? Should we collect codes taken from interview and diary texts in the same page and try to reach themes?
