When creating an experiment in which i collect descriptions of a picture, how can i analyze those statements and combine the knowledge gained from them with data from psychological scales which are numerical. How to do statistical operations on both of them together.
Firstly, you should consider the qualitative content analysis (see the article in the attachment). After this analysis you will have, for example, the frequencies of the words that were used for picture description. So, this is the way to quantify your descriptions, and than you can combine those data with the data obtained from psychological scales. The statistical method depends on your research question as well as on the data you have. For example, you can divide your sample according to the scores on the scale, and than you can look for differences in the descriptions of the pictures...
