Just to be sure to understand: six sextets would make for a total of 36 lines plus a doublet makes a total of 38?! On the other hand you say there are seven lines. This is where I get confused.

I would suggest to measure the spectrum much longer, at least 4 times, to reduce the statistical error of spectral points.

I'm sure that your student is familiar with the literature, but it always helps to refresh the search. When she/he googles - Mossbauer X-type hexaferrites - the useful articles appear.

Hexaferrites are complex but very useful.

Please note, Section 5.7, that the X-type hexaferrite is very difficult to make.

Please be sure that your sample is a single phase.
