How to adding 3D thickness layer to 2D ATHENA meshing file ?

I am trying to add the thickness (plain thickness) to my simulated 2D mesh in ATHENA, in order to be performed in ATLAS. However, I can't see the way without using DevEdit 3D which our lab doesn't have a license. Can you guys suggest the method in achieving this? Thank you
