Thanks for your answer.

I am using Mixture model, Laminar flow of Comsol.

I think I have figured out now the case. Selecting the dispersed phase material in the Mixture Properties section automatically imparts the selected domain to it. This means I don't have to worry about the overridden domain in the materials section.
