I have added some of my articles manually in ResearchGate. But while adding the same file in Google Scholar manually, I am not able to attch the pdf file of the paper with it. How can it be done?
Can I add the link of the paper from Researchgate directly with Google Scholar?

I think Google scholar is more complicated than RG. But there is a problem with RG which is the difficulty of merging two research items.

I guess you cannot add the PDF manually. Once you add a paper in scholar, it will automatically search for PDF file. If you have added the PDF of the same paper in ResearchGate, Google Scholar will find it out and show the link.
This is what I understood.

@Deep is quiet correct. There basically four options to add your papers/articles in your google scholar account viz: Add article groups; Add articles; Add article manually; Configure article updates.
Depending on whether your paper is a conference paper or journal article, you can then supply the details or search for your articles accordingly. Give it a try and make more discovery.
Hi. You can easily add your paper in google scholar . first of all, sign in by your Gmail account in google scholar.
Then on the left hand of the page, exactly beside title+ , there are 3 items:
1. Add articel Group
2. Add article Manually
3. Add articles

I guess you cannot add the PDF manually. Instead add a copy of the paper in ResarchGate. Once added in Research Gate or anywhere else, Google Scholar will show link after few days.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I have uploaded my PDF version of papers is RG long back (more than six month) but I don't see them in Google Scholar. I did good research but no luck so far.

We can't add pdf/text file in google scholar manually. Once you upload the detail of your article, google scholar will detect the pdf file automatically.
Yes i have also tried it several times and is true that you cannot add a copy of the article manually in google scholar. So it is good to publish in good journals where articles are indexed in google scholar
