Me and my friends are senior engineering students, we need help on the following.
We want to design our models in CAD programmes and analyse them in Ansys workbench. To be more specialized, in static structural and eigenvalue buckling analysis part. We can easily upload our design but we could not find a way to use shell element model for our solid designs.
If somebody could help, that would help a lot.

You can upload your solid design by using "import external geometry file". First, you need to open design modeler, then click on the 'File' and you are going to see 'import external geometry file' option. Choose your step file and click 'ok'. After you import your solid geometry, please click on the 'Tools' and use ' Mid-Surface'. Select faces which you want to make shell. Finally your solid body becomes shell body.
